Post hello and a couple of requests.

Hi Richard, just thought I would thank you for all the effort you have put into the site it really does enable us monoglots to get insights into this area that wouldn't be available to us otherwise.
However i would like to see more information on the post 77 RAF and i would also be very interested to see any interviews with ex members available in translation. Any chance of this or links to where it might be covered?
Thanks again and best wishes from England.

You're right; I definitely should have much more about the full RAF history. Originally the site was simply going to be an adjunct to my research about the earlier "baader-meinhof" era, but it's clear that this is almost arbitrary. Perhaps because I just watched "The Legend of Rita" again (which is a fictionalized account of the RAF members who hid in East Germany in the 80s), but the later era is equally fascinating...

I definitely hope to put up a fully developed collection of links soon, but there are a few that might be good for you.

First and foremost is spiegel.de. If you don't speak or read German, use a copy of chrome browser to go to the spiegel site and it should automatically translate the contents. Recently they have put up their entire archive of magazines online, for free, and totally searchable. They have had 30 RAF cover stories since 1972, and have printed hundreds and hundreds of thousands of words about the group (search "rote armee fraktion"). The google translation is kind of goofy, but generally serviceable.

Another excellent resource (also in German) is rafinfo.de. This site has lots and lots of info about the group, including the full texts of an RAF book that contains every single communique releases by the group.

Richard Huffman is the creator of baader-meinhof.com, lives in Seattle, and is hard at work on his perpetually forthcoming book about the Baader-Meinhof Gang.
